The Godfather: Ask It For A Favor

posted on 20 March 2009 by tony

I don’t like blended scotch. There, I’ve said it. It’s single malt or nothing, as far as I’m concerned. That being said, blended scotches do have a role. That role, I’ve found, is in mixed drinks. I can’t say that there are a lot of scotch cocktails, but I’ve come across a few in my time. I’d like to share one of the classics with you today. It is known as The Godfather, and it goes a little something like this:

1 part blended scotch (I use Dewar’s 12 year, but take your pick)
1 part amaretto

That’s it. No garnish. No fancy mixing technique. Maybe a little ice if that’s your fancy. If you’re not keen on scotch of any kind, you can use vodka and make yourself a Godmother. And if you’re Lupec, you can mix a few of these up and head on over to my place. I’ll see you there.

-Out.
