The Godfather: Ask It For A Favor
posted on 20 March 2009 by tonyI don’t like blended scotch. There, I’ve said it. It’s single malt or nothing, as far as I’m concerned. That being said, blended scotches do have a role. That role, I’ve found, is in mixed drinks. I can’t say that there are a lot of scotch cocktails, but I’ve come across a few in my time. I’d like to share one of the classics with you today. It is known as The Godfather, and it goes a little something like this:
1 part blended scotch (I use Dewar’s 12 year, but take your pick)
1 part amaretto
That’s it. No garnish. No fancy mixing technique. Maybe a little ice if that’s your fancy. If you’re not keen on scotch of any kind, you can use vodka and make yourself a Godmother. And if you’re Lupec, you can mix a few of these up and head on over to my place. I’ll see you there.
-Out.
