Be the Background logo on the Bag O’ Nips

If we do our job right, it should be apparent to you, our friends and customers, that we don’t take much seriously.  We make jokes, act foolish and we sell booze.  Recently, we launched a new product at the store, brainchild of our wunderkind spirits manager Tony: The Bag O’ Nips.

The Bag O’ Nips is a random, rotating selection of 10 nips you can buy for $15.  Great as a gag gift, a real gift or an excursion companion, the Bag O’ Nips mainly makes us laugh, which is why we love it.

Here’s the Press Release (yep, we have a press release ready to go after we launch this via our web and social media presence):

The BoN comes in both Mens and Womens varieties, and in turn both Men & Women can submit entries for the contest.

This contest is not what you might expect.  The dTws crew set up some ground rules to make sure this was not sketchy….well at least not SUPER sketchy.

Contestants should:

Be real people, not hard bodies
Submit photos from neck to waist, no faces
Have nips that play a prominent role in the image
NOT submit photos that will get us in trouble (i.e. naked female photos should not be submitted, or at least won’t be selected as the winner)

General Manager, Dan Parsons: “We try hard to not take ourselves too seriously.The Bag O’ Nips idea came from Tony, our Spirits Manager, and may very well be the best gag gift ever.  We’re taking it to a new level with this contest, which is anything but a hard body competition.  Also, I can’t believe this is a quote going in a press release.  Really?”

The “Be the Background logo on the Bag O’ Nips” contest will run from March 15th, 2010 to May 15th, 2010.   Winners will be announced via social media and will receive a Prize pack of whatever swag we have lying around (i.e. Pint Glasses, Wine Coozies, etc.)

Get your buzz and your booze

So I’m watching some guy set up a fancy coffee station in the front of the store.  Now you’ll be able to have a sweet cup of steaming joe while you poke about for your evening libation.  This has gotten me thinking about how I like to liquor up my coffee, and I’ve decided to share my variants of Irish coffee here. Mind you, I drink my coffee black, no sugar.

The simplest is pouring a healthy dollop of Coole Swann straight in and go to town.  Coole Swann is an Irish whiskey based cream liquor that tastes like heaven in your mouth. I do believe it was made solely for the purpose of drinking with coffee.  Be warned, this is the sort of doctored up coffee you’ll find yourself drinking at 10 am if you’re not careful.

My primary mode of boozing up that delicious bean juice is a little more dangerous.  Throw some Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate vodka in, then follow it up with their Double Espresso.  Each shot of Double Espresso has the caffeine equivalent of a cup of coffee already, so you’ll be feeling energetic, and a little tipsy, in no time.

Coffee is a great base for cocktails, and I heartily encourage experimentation. If you hit on a good combo, drop me a line and I’ll try it out.
